New Resource for Clients

One thing we take seriously here at Renaissance Properties is keeping current: with laws & regulations, with developments in the fields of real estate & property management, and in technology. For example, last year we added the web-based property management software Propertyware as a resource for tenants and owners. The ability to track monies, maintenance requests, leases, and bills in one place from anywhere has streamlined our operations and simplified our communication with clients and tenants.

In the category of using technology to make things simple, we are starting the Renaissance Properties Management blog. Yes, a bit late to the blogging game, but we think this can be a place for both curated and original content.

For our inaugural post I want to quote from The Farm Home, February 1, 1900, vol XII, no. 214:

Finally, never indulge the sentiment often expressed by thoughtless land owners that anything Is good enough for a tenant, for unless he is a very remarkable man, the companion piece to this that anything is good enough for the land owner soon manifests itself in weedy fence rows, untrimmed hedges and a generally sloven appearance on the entire farm.

We encounter this disconnect from property owners every so often. The idea that stained carpets, marred woodwork, or ill-functioning appliances are "good enough for tenants" only creates a situation where properties are not taken care of by those same tenants. I wonder how many property owners would be okay with stained carpets and broken furniture or appliances in their own homes. If it's not acceptable in the owner's own home, it should not be acceptable for tenants. Tenants look upon the property as their home and would like it to be beautiful and well maintained.

Watch this space for useful content, helpful information, and great ideas.
